Nokia X6 is the company’s first smartphone from its new X series in China. The smartphone features an iPhone X-like notch display and a glass body design.


Nokia X6 has been launched in China at an event in Beijing on Wednesday. The smartphone is the first from the Nokia brand to feature the iPhone X-like notch display design. Nokia X6 also continues with the company’s design with 95% of its body covered in glass, and brand licensee HMD Global has also included a dual back camera setup with AI and HDR features on the Nokia X6. The AI will be mostly focused on improving camera experience on Nokia X. Other highlights of the Nokia X6 included a 19:9 display, the modern octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC, up to 6GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel front camera, Quick Charge 3.0, and also the nearness of Android 8.1 Oreo with Do Not Disturb mode for gaming. 


The smartphone is currently available only in China with no word on a global launch as yet. Nokia X6 is offered at three storage variants going up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.



Nokia X6 price 

Nokia X6 starts at CNY 1,299 (Rs 13,800 approximately) for the base variant with 4GB RAM plus 32GB storage. The mid variant with 4GB RAM plus 64GB storage will retail at CNY 1,499 (Rs 16,000 approximately). The top model with 6GB RAM plus 64GB storage carries a price tag of CNY 1,699 (Rs 18,100 approximately).

Nokia X6 specifications 

Nokia X6 features a 5.8-inch full HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio, and a 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood of the smartphone runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor. For photography, Nokia X6 sports a dual-camera setup at the rear which is a combination of 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. Up front, it houses a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity options on the Nokia X6 include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and FM Radio. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3,060mAh battery that when coupled with an 18W charger can deliver up to 50 percent of charge in 30 minutes, thanks to Quick Charge 3.0. It measures 147.2x70.98x7.99mm (excluding the lens), going up to 8.59mm with the lens, and weighs 151 grams. On the software front, it runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. The smartphone will also be upgraded to the upcoming Android P OS.
